DESCRIPTION
UGI is providing design services for the transformation of an existing 1950's two story home into a progressive dwelling that redefines its interior functionality and relationships to the exterior. The home is approximately 2200 square feet and will include a multi-functional center island to service the main spaces that surround and highlighted through use of materials, lighting, and a fireplace. All living spaces and bedroom open to the exterior for access, views, natural light, and makes connections to the new gardens and decks adjacent. An iconic bay window in the master suite projects at the southwest corner to frame in the views of lake washington and downtown Seattle to the west.
The exterior is composed of entirely standing seam metal roofing and siding to present a contiguous enclosure thats carved into for natural light to penetrate the interiors. Finished stained plywood siding provides for a warm surface where the human perspective comes to interact and the metallic main body is anchored by a solid stone clad base with punch openings.
